My experience with Brussels J'arrive went better than I ever could have imagined. I went from being so shy that I refused to speak in French out of fear I would mispronounce something or say something wrong... to yapping non-stop in French! Marie Ange has allowed me to work at my own pace, designed personalized lesson plans and took non-linear less academically-structured approaches when necessary. Rather than being 100% grammatically correct, I was more interested in being understood. Her flexibility and expertise allowed me to gain the confidence to start speaking French in my daily life. The progress I have made, meant I felt less shame making mistakes and instead having more curiosity and interest in learning/improving my language skills. Learning French went from being a daunting chore to something I'm genuinely excited about.

I have been working with Marie-Ange since the summer of 2022 as a supplement to my 2-3x/week "traditional" French classes in Brussels. Her system of teaching as well as the organization of all classes is always balanced between structured and conversational. She understands the difficulties of being an expat and targets the most relevant and useful information. I find that our sessions, both 1:1 and group, fly by.
